The Renter explicitly agrees to strictly abide by all Federal, State of Florida, and local municipal laws regarding metal detecting.
- Beach & Coastline Restrictions: Per Florida State Parks Regulations, metal detecting is prohibited on state park lands. On allowed coastal beaches, detecting is restricted to the area between the toe of the sand dune and the high-water line. Renter shall not enter the water or wet sand zones on restricted state "Treasure Coast" waters (Melbourne Beach to Fort Pierce area) due to state-protected shipwreck lease sites.
- Historical & Archaeological Artifacts: Under Florida Statute Chapter 267, any artifact or historical item found on state-owned property that is over 50 years old belongs to the State of Florida and must be reported immediately to the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN). Excavation of historical or archaeological sites is strictly prohibited.
- Private Property: Renter will not use the equipment on private property without express written permission from the landowner.
- Environmental Care: Renter agrees to a strict Code of Conduct: all dug targets must be carefully extracted, all holes must be completely refilled to their original condition, and any trash or debris uncovered must be disposed of properly.
